Paurotis Palm

 

Scientific Name: Acoelorrhaphe wrightii

 

AKA: Everglades Palm, Madiera Palm, Silver Saw Palmetto

 

Appearance: Small palms that grow in clusters, with slender trunks. Paurotis Palm's average growing height is between 18 - 25 feet. The bright green leaves are fan-shaped and the leaf spine has sharp teeth.This palm is endangered and is protected in the wild by Florida law. 

 

Growing: Slow growing. Adapts to partial shade or full sun. Easy to care for, salt and drought tolerant, yet prefers average watering. 

 

The Paurotis Palm is a Florida Native.
