Indian Date Palm

Scientific Name: Phoenix rupicola

AKA: Cliff Palm, Cliff Date Palm

Appearance: These Indian Date Palms grow no taller than 30 feet. Very graceful in appearance with bright green and glossy fronds. Notice with this palm that the leaflets on each frond arch vertically from the spine and do not hang like most feathery palms do. This specific date palm is considered a threatened species. 

Growing: Slow growth. Requires rich, well drained soil. Indian Date Palms require more water than most palms and do not handle drought. Partial shade to full sun.
